Me, Hockney and van Gogh

BY THE SIDE OF AN EASEL CHAT: While we are being sequestered indoors as we do what we can to flatten the Corona Virus curve, as an Urban Nature Photographer, I invite you to crash a chat with Hockney and van Gogh about the nature of  LANDSCAPES. This is a wonderful stroll across the decades between two artists. Though he is a little harsh on us photographers, this interview of Hockney is a joyful piece indeed!  And in spite of the fact, I won’t have 60 years of time for my exploration and play, I love van Gogh’s concept of saying, “not every work is perfect, but it is getting along.” What more can an artist want to be said about his/her work? I believe that being an artist is truly a journey and not a destination if I am doing it right. It needs to be done with no net and with an open mind. The reward is in the surprise when the piece says to me, 'There, I am  done!' " So even if you are not an artist, WHEN YOU GO ON YOUR RESPONSIBLE DISTANT SOCIALIZING outdoor walk, SLOW YOUR ROLL and TAKE IN THE LANDSCAPE LIKE YOU ARE IN A PAINTER’S MEDITATION, it is spring time and the world is exploding with ripeness!
